Oats How I Love You. Let Me Count the Ways.

Oats. They’ve been around for ages. If you’re like me, you grew up eating oatmeal covered in brown sugar and raisins. Talk about a sugar fest, but hey, at least I ate it. Nowadays, oatmeal has transformed into a new POWER FOOD. No more plain Jane porridge. And the nutrition aspect of this bowl is far from average, But that’s if you know how to “dress it” right.

So what’s so good about oats? Well, the average bowl of plain oatmeal is a good source of fiber, complex carbohydrates, and minimal sugar. Not bad, but we can do EVEN better .

How can we PUMP up our daily oats? Here are some of my favorite ways!

  • We can buy the oats gluten free (to avoid an allergy if you have one).
  • We can add chia or flax seed for good fats and omegas.

  • We can stir in Core Power to make it protein packed.
  • We can top it with cinnamon and fruit for antioxidants.

  • We can bake it in the oven and make into bread or bars, and then top with peanut butter for a balanced snack.
  • We can mix it into pancake batter for hearty and more fiber rich pancakes.
  • We can top it with a poached egg and a little bit of honey for a perfect post workout meal.

  • We can cook it in a rice cooker, add a little Corepower vanilla, and feed a hungry bunch or stock up for days!
  • We can toast it then mix with nuts and dried fruit to make a yogurt and granola style breakfast.

  • We can mix it with peanut butter and chopped dates to make a perfect NO BAKE power bite!
  • We can even grind up oats and use it as a batter for baked chicken fingers or fish.
  • We CAN do IT ALL!

You see, plain Jane oatmeal is a thing of the past. SUPER POWER oatmeal is the way to go. Try any, try all! And let me know what you think.
