job purpose:

Responsible for the aseptic filling of containers of all products supplied by the processing department. Will be expected to maintain aseptic integrity and sterilization of the filling, capping and all other associated equipment in the aseptic environment. Will complete all required documents and ensure all aseptic and legal parameters are complied with. Will perform product testing and evaluation protocols. Will make the necessary equipment adjustments to maintain aseptic integrity.

 

responsibilities:

  • Observe machine operations to ensure quality and conformity of filled or packaged products to standards.
  • Weigh, and inspect products, verifying and adjusting product weight or measurement to meet specifications.
  • Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to a supervisor.
  • Supply filling equipment with materials such as caps, sanitizing chemical and bottles.
  • Proactively monitor the production line, filler, and capper, watching for problems such as pile-ups or jams.
  • Count and record finished and rejected packaged items.
  • CIP/clean the filler, capper, coder, and surrounding area. Maintain the entire filling area in an audit ready condition during production.
  • Confirm product quality with Quality Assurance Department prior to producing and during the production of product ensuring it meets and complies with all quality protocols.
  • Oil, trouble shoot and make minor adjustments or repairs to filling and capping equipment.
  • Aid in the training of new personnel.
  • Follow all safety, working, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) rules.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

 

 

skills/qualifications required:

  • Must work in a safe, efficient manner and follow all safety procedures including the use of safety equipment.

Associates in electrical engineering preferred or A High School/vocational electrical diploma is required.

  • High School level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computational skills required. Simple math and reasoning required.
  • Must be able to operate the equipment effectively after the appropriate break-in period.

 

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Must possess or be able to use HMI (human machine interface) devices and understand process trending and SPC (statistical Process Control).

Sitting/Standing/Walking/Lifting/Carrying: The Aseptic Bottle Filler Operator stands throughout their shift. The Filler Operator walks on uneven concrete and tile surfaces. The Filler Operator lifts up to 60 pounds on a frequent basis and 80 pounds on occasional basis. Two or more employees complete lifts of greater than 80 pounds.

Pushing/Pulling/Bending/Stooping: The Filler Operator pushes/pulls/pours boxes of caps stacking collapsed boxes on a pallet or recycle container. The Filler Operator pushes/pulls while using brooms, dust mops and brushes during cleanup duties.  The Filler Operator bends and stoops occasionally throughout the workday for varying lengths of time.

Squatting/Kneeling/Crawling/Twisting/Turning: The Filler Operator may squat to pick up product from the floor, or during various cleanup duties. Occasional slight twisting and turning at the waist when testing product, or when performing responsibilities. 

Climbing/Balancing/Reaching: Filler Operator steps on and off the filling platform and steps. The Filler Operator reaches below and/or above shoulder level when removing or adding boxes to a pallet or dumping caps into a hopper.

Grasping/Manipulation: Frequent use of the hands and fingers is required.

  • Notify supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required that may affect product quality or food safety.
  • Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas.
  • Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, Customer and/or Government requirements/standards as prioritized by the Company.
  • Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
  • Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.
  • Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
  • In the event of absence, another employee with the same skill level will assume the duties and responsibilities as required.
