If you are baking and realize you don’t have all of the ingredients, these baking hacks will save your sweet treats and save you from making a last-minute trip to the grocery store.

No Buttermilk in Your Fridge? All you need is a cup of fairlife ultra-filtered milk and one tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice or distilled white vinegar. Stir and let the mixture sit for five to ten minutes to thicken slightly before using.

Out of Heavy Cream? All you need is to mix some rich and creamy fairlife ultra-filtered whole milk with some melted butter (3 parts milk to 1 part butter).

No Sweetened Condensed Milk Around? Try mixing 2 cups fairlife ultra-filtered whole milk with 3/4-1 cup sugar in a saucepan. Heat on a low heat until the sugar has dissolved. Simmer until the milk has reduced by about half and darkened to a creamy color. Remove from heat, let the condensed milk cool and then it’s ready to use in your recipes.

Upgrade Boxed Mix Baking: If you are baking and using a store-bought boxed mix for cakes, cookies, brownies, or muffins, skip the water and add fairlife ultra-filtered milk for a delicious and simple upgrade. Add chocolate milk to chocolate cake mix for double the delicious chocolate-goodness.

When the weather outside is frightful, skip the powdered hot cocoa mix and whip up a cup of delicious, creamy hot chocolate made with fairlife® Ultra-Filtered Milk.

Elevate Your Hot Chocolate This Season: In a microwave safe mug, simply heat up some with fairlife Chocolate 2% Ultra-Filtered Milk in the microwave for 80-90 seconds for a rich and deliciously creamy hot chocolate drink. Or, if you prefer to use the stovetop, you could mix in some melted chocolate. If you’re a little adventurous, you could spice it up by adding a little cinnamon or chili powder.

Create a Hot Chocolate Charcuterie Board: Treat everyone to a delicious spread they won’t forget by making a Hot Chocolate charcuterie board designed to help them turn these cozy hot beverages into winter treats. Fill the board with different hot chocolate toppings and pairings in a variety of sizes and flavors, such as milk chocolate, marshmallows, cookies, chocolate covered pretzels, truffle chocolate, mini candy canes, and more. You could also include delicious add-ins like peanut butter, hazelnut spread, or peppermint extract.

DIY Twist on a Classic: If you’re feeling creative and looking for a new take on Hot Chocolate, why don’t you try this yummy White Hot Chocolate recipe? It’s so easy to make and is such a cold weather treat.

Cook Up a Holiday Breakfast Treat: Have leftover hot chocolate? Place the leftovers in the fridge and the next day, add it to oatmeal to create a Hot Chocolate oatmeal. You can even make a large batch in a slow cooker and treat the whole family to this special breakfast.

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! A time when many variations of holiday cookies exist for you to choose from. As you work out which recipes to use, we recommend pairing it with fairlife ultra-filtered milk. It’s rich, creamy and delivers more protein and less sugar than regular milks. PLUS, it’s lactose free. What could be a better partner to your successful cookie baking endeavor?

Customize Pre-Made Cookie Dough: If you’re using pre-made sugar cookie dough, you could customize it with a personal touch by sprinkling in any flavor you’re craving. Try cinnamon, orange zest, almond extract, vanilla extract, nuts, pure peppermint extract, white chocolate chips, or even butterscotch chips.

Make Them Look Perfect Every Time: Dust your cookie cutters with flour or powdered sugar before you use them to help keep them from sticking. Also, if you don’t have cookie cutters, use a wine glass to measure out the cookies.

Oooey Gooey Cookies: To get this texture, try under-baking them slightly. For example, if the recipe says to bake for 15 minutes, take them out at 12.

Holiday Cookie Transformation: To make any regular cookie recipe a bit more holiday friendly, dip the cookie in chocolate and sprinkle on some crushed bits of peppermint candy. To add a little extra something, sprinkle just a little bit of sea salt on your cookies too.

Keep the Cookies Moist: Keep your cookies in an air-tight container with an apple wedge, a slice of white bread, or an orange peel. The moisture from either of these items helps to keep the cookies softer for longer.
