Spin + Strength Workout Of the Week

Spin Into Fitness With This Workout of the Week.

By Katie Uhran

I have been spending a lot of time in the saddle…Not the horse saddle (I am actually really scared of horses. I got thrown off one as a kid and never got back on), but rather the indoor bike. I actually cannot stand taking spin classes, but have no problem kicking my own butt on the indoor bike. My rides typically are 30 to 60 minutes long and include intervals and will either focus on speed or hills. It depends on my mood. And just like with my treadmill workouts, I have started to incorporate strength training circuits to break up the monotony.

Cycling is a great alternative to running! It gives the legs a much needed rest from all the heavy impact. The key though for most people on the indoor bike is to not get bored. It can be monotonous, but aren’t most endurance workouts when you are cooped up inside? So enter my Spin + Strength Workout. This is a KILLER full body workout that I have done myself a few times and used with some of my clients. I LOVE it! It keeps the heart rate high, builds up endurance, strength, and will leave you a sweaty mess. So print this out and give it a shot as soon as possible!

And a don’t forget to power your recovery with a Core Power high protein shake right after your workout.
