job purpose: The Lead Operator will be a part of the Coopersville team focused on shift performance of their respective line(s) within fairlife, LLC.  This operator will be the lead operator on their team and will be the “go-to” person for the line during their shift.  They also will be able to “flex” into any role on the line as needed to cover for vacations, breaks, call-ins, etc.    

 

This individual must possess experience in filling technology, downstream packaging equipment, IWS methodology, and leadership.  

responsibilities:  

  • Be an active participant in fairlife operational work-systems (FLOW) working closely with the CI team on routines, standards, and systems health  

  • Completion of fairlife operational work-systems (FLOW) charts and lead the reconnect meetings 

  • Manage timelines, task lists, and resourcing as needed on a shift-by-shift basis 

  • Work closely with the on-shift supervisor to understand key shift deliverables and work with the team to execute on those deliverables   

  • Identify and resolve issues that place projects or plant operations at risk 

  • Ensure internal quality standards are being met 

  • Understands how to run each machine and can step in to run the machines as needed to cover for vacations, breaks, call-ins, etc. 

  • Contribute to operational standards, situational awareness tools, routines, and training plans 

  • Help be the “voice of the floor” and make sure concerns/requests/prioritization from team members are being voiced and heard from operations leadership and the support teams (e.g. CI, maintenance, etc.) 

skills/qualifications required:  

  • 1-3 years of work experience within manufacturing 

  • Fully signed off on all major packaging equipment (blow molder, filler, sleever, casepacker) within 6 months of accepting role 

  • Ability to understand and manage key deliverables; able to reprioritize and shift resources quickly to achieve those deliverables 

  • Strong math and reasoning ability, technically minded 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 

  • Willingness to learn and communicate advanced technical systems and processes 

  • Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment 

 

food safety requirements:  

  • Notify supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required that may affect product quality or food safety. 

  • Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas. 

  • Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, Customer and/or Government requirements/standards as prioritized by the Company. 

  • Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system. 

  • Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system. 

  • Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected. 

  • In the event of absence, another employee with the same skill level will assume the duties and responsibilities as required.
