job purpose: The Technical Projects Coordinator will be a part of fairlife’s engineering and project management team, primarily based out of the Coopersville MI, plant. This individual will have ownership for the overall successful end-to-end project management of processing equipment. This role is accountable for ensuring installation, commissioning, validation, operation and maintenance of the processing equipment to meet company standards. Assists in providing strategic direction and guidance to fairlife’s manufacturing arena concerning all platforms of processing and capacity. Facilitates the development of training material in the processing arena at the plant level. Work as liaison with brand group for processing capability and technical questions. Identify and implement strategic initiatives which are enablers for fairlife to meet its present and future objectives in the areas of processed dairy.

responsibilities:

  • Ensure plant compliance to Federal, State, and Corporate environmental laws, rules & regulations
  • Assists the Technical Capability Director with communications to R&D, Engineering, Commercialization, and other groups as necessary
  • Assists in the engineering, partner with vendors, and development of plans for process systems while providing recommendations for enhanced performance of the facility
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate activities concerning design, construction, modification and maintenance of the processing equipment and infrastructure/utilities and mechanical designs
  • Troubleshoot problems and develop root cause and corrective actions
  • Serves as subject matter expert for processing, and quality expectations, to include all Dairy Processing, VTIS/UHT operations, CIP parameters, Membranes, and Separators

 

skills/qualifications required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field 
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing plants in the food and beverage industry
  • Self-starter: Demonstrated ability to take charge and own successful project outcomes
  • Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical cross functional teams
  • Proven track record of training and facilitation to all levels of the organization

Preferred Candidates will have:

  • Dairy processing and packaging experience
  • Demonstrable teamwork and maturity with a strong work ethic and leadership skills
  • Positive and proactive attitude
  • Strong understanding of possible process/product interactions with the ability to provide a risk assessment and primary recommendation
  • Strong understanding of system capabilities and provide solutions to successfully produce products within project deadlines and budget
  • Strong negotiation skills required, with the drive to execute
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to travel as needed
