job purpose: The Senior HR Business Partner will manage all major HR functions for the manufacturing footprint which currently consists of 4 nonunion plants (MI, NM, IN, AZ) and about 300 employees. This role will be ultimately responsible for the successful opening of fairlife’s new startup facility in Phoenix, AZ.

 

responsibilities:

  • Partner with Operations senior leadership to ensure HR strategy is aligned and supports business needs (business partners include manufacturing footprint as well as corporate supply chain functions)
  • Direct and ensure consistency for all HR processes, policies and initiatives at plant locations including handbook, discipline, communication, and engagement
  • Lead and manage all aspects of performance and talent management with managers including Succession Planning, Performance Calibration, and individual performance plans
  • Partner closely with the Chief Supply Chain Officer and VP of Manufacturing Technologies to ensure a successful startup of the greenfield site in Phoenix, AZ (including grants reporting, managing hiring process, leading an HR team remotely, etc.)
  • Own and manage HR Operations metrics including analyzing and recommending productivity improvements for plant HR processes
  • Advise, train, and coach managers on both day to day and escalated employee relations including investigation, leave administration and salaried and hourly performance.

skills/qualifications required:

  • Master’s Degree in HR/MBA required
  • 7 years of progressive HR experience required
  • HR leadership experience over multiple manufacturing locations and/or one large manufacturing site ( >500 people)
  • Experience managing and developing direct reports      
  • Ability to be a self-starter; take charge while maintaining a positive & proactive attitude
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Experience in both union and nonunion environments
  • Ability to make data-driven decisions and compelling business cases
  • Strong verbal/written communication and presentation skills required
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment

preferred candidates will have:

  • Six Sigma/Lean training and/or certification preferred
  • Facility start up experience

position location: Chicago, IL

reports to: HR Director

travel requirements: 25-50% annually, with increased travel to Phoenix, AZ site expected during onboarding period
