job purpose:

This person is responsible for overall general assurance that finished goods release criteria is met and non-conforming material inventories in the factory & outside storage locations are reconciled.  This position will provide key support for the quality department regarding inventory management and effective internal controls. The specialist will be responsible for maintaining inventory control on quality holds, as well as to manage and maintain inventory aspects of the hold and release procedure.

responsibilities:

  • Responsible for working in accordance with our documented Quality System and for verifying that products are approved for release across the network.
  • Quality hold inventory management at fairlife sites and our offsite locations (3PL) as well as assisting these offsite locations in managing these hold materials.
  • Conducts daily/weekly reconciling inventory systems regarding quality holds.
  • Assist with the documentation for destruction (COD’s) of finished goods, ingredients, and materials.
  • Assist in resolving issues on any material discrepancy that includes quantity, correct material, and status to ensure batch traceability.
  • Ensure records affecting quality metrics are adequately captured, analyzed, and communicated to management.
  • Support product recall/return process through electronic identification and segregation of product.
  • Act as a liaison to Supply Chain (may include transportation quality, restack guidelines, approval of services required in the field, chain of custody).
  • Executing or assisting in assigned quality tasks as needed (may include pre-approving materials, new material introductions, obsolete/expired materials monitoring).
  • Perform a variety of other duties as may be assigned by management.

 

skills/qualifications required:

  • Minimum of 3+ years related experience with quality control and inventory management, may substitute for associates degree or higher.  
  • College level verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read, write, and understand English is required.
  • Skilled with computers; Microsoft Office (Excel) and Inventory Management Systems. Knowledge of SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar enterprise (ERP) or warehouse management system (WMS) is strongly preferred.
  • Must be attentive to detail, results oriented, and able to work with numbers including reading, recording, and counting large quantities accurately.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be able to effectively interact with all levels of staff. Must be able to work independently, respond quickly to problems, quickly adapt to change, manage multiple priorities, as well as effectively work as a team.

 

working conditions and physical requirements:

  • 40-45 hours sitting/standing/walking/lifting
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule possibly including evenings, weekends and holidays as needed

 

food safety requirements:

  • Notify supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required that may affect product quality or food safety.
  • Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas.
  • Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, Customer and/or Government requirements/standards as prioritized by the Company.
  • Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
  • Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.
  • Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
  • In the event of absence, another employee with the same skill level will assume the duties and responsibilities as required.
