job purpose:
job purpose: Summary
The person is responsible for the care and maintenance of all processing equipment in the plant. Operations include daily operation/maintenance of UHT, HTST, Homogenizer, AST and associated equipment. Also included are troubleshooting and automation. This is a fulltime day position with responsibilities to include receiving troubleshooting calls on off hours. This position reports to the processing manager.

The appropriate candidate should have experience running the equipment as an operator and show proficiency in the daily operations of the aforementioned. The Specialist should be well versed in PMO, P&ID, sanitation and CIP, aseptic theory, and have a mechanical understanding and background. Must pass Bennett Mechanical Test.

Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions given in written, oral, or diagram form. Must have the ability to discern when issues may require input from levels of authority within the corporation.

Physical Demands:
Regular use of a variety of machines and tools is essential. Standing for extended periods is common. Hearing and vision within normal range is important for conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents, manuals and drawings.
Good math and reasoning ability is essential. Able to understand and utilize engineering drawings, operating manuals, and blueprints to conduct business.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The job is performed indoors on a manufacturing floor. Exposure to loud noises, dust, dirt, sparks, oil and smoke may occur. Protective safety equipment may be required including, but not limited to,: hearing protection, bump caps, hair and beard nets, shoes, gloves, hardhat, and safety eyewear as needed. Activities may include extended periods of standing.
