job purpose: The Process Engineering Project Manager has ownership for the overall successful end-to-end project management of all processing equipment from detailed engineering through operational acceptance.  This role is accountable for ensuring the design, installation, commissioning, validation, operation, and maintenance of the processing equipment meet the standards of fairlife.  This role will be part of the fairlife project management team and so the candidate must possess a strong team-based attitude, collaboration and negotiation skills, and the drive to execute to a project schedule.

responsibilities:

  • Assure plant compliance to Federal, State and Corporate environmental laws, rules & regulations.
  • Assure that the process complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments.
  • Own the engineering and development of plans for process systems
  • Plan, direct and coordinate activities concerned with design, construction, modification, and maintenance of the processing equipment
  • Effectively collaborate and coordinate with other functions and trades to ensure work is performed on time and within budget
  • Troubleshoot problems and develop root cause and corrective actions
  • Create and manage KPIs for the processing function
  • Develops and plans annual down time and preventative maintenance activities
  • Prepare performance and availability/reliability calculations, in accordance with ongoing continuous monitoring efforts
  • Provide recommendations for enhanced performance of the facility
  • Provide process engineering oversight to the process infrastructure
  • Partner with vendors and suppliers to leverage insight, training, and productivity

skills/qualifications required:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related field
  • Self-starter; take charge, positive & proactive attitude
  • 5+ years Process engineering of low acid food products or pharmaceuticals
  • Ability to communicate clearly within the organization and externally
  • Demonstrable teamwork and maturity with a strong work ethic
  • Strong leadership skills

 

food safety requirements:

  • Notify supervision of any repairs or adjustments that are required that may affect product quality or food safety.
  • Understand, observe, and comply with the handling and usage of the color-coded container policy while in the Production Areas.
  • Perform all duties necessary to meet Company, Customer and/or Government requirements/standards as prioritized by the Company.
  • Ability to initiate action to prevent the occurrence of nonconformities relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the product, processes, quality system, or safety system.
  • Identify and record any problems relating to Food Safety and the Quality of the ingredients, processes, quality system, or safety system.
  • Control further processing or delivery of nonconforming product in terms of Food Safety and Quality issues until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
  • In the event of absence, another employee with the same skill level will assume the duties and responsibilities as required.
