job purpose: The Planning Manager is a key member of the Supply Chain team. This role is directly responsible for leading the production scheduling and materials management teams in our facilities. This role will work cross functionally with key members of the supply and demand teams. This role will drive value by ensuring the planning team develops an efficient and optimal production schedule built to ensure target customer service levels are met and exceeded, while ensuring raw materials are present to support that schedule and forecasted volumes. 

 

responsibilities:

  • Oversee the planning teams at all sites to drive production and material planning
  • Responsible for creating production plan with planning team, including signing off on weekly and monthly production plans
  • Lead the long-term material forecast and plan, and make tough decisions on production capacity and material allocations
  • Direct responsibility for reducing costs and increase efficiency and productivity by delivering an efficient and optimal production schedule, taking into consideration key inputs such as capability, demand, inventory levels, and material lead times
  • Responsible for the inventory strategy and execution across finished goods and raw materials
  • Coordinate and lead weekly alignment meetings between the planning team, logistics, operations and customer service
  • Drive continual improvements of current tools and processes, including owning and developing new tool to drive fairlife’s extraordinary growth.
  • Refine information systems configurations/settings to drive a more integrated supply planning and material resource management system
  • Proactive management and cross functional communication of quality concerns impacting production schedule
  • Continuous monitoring and proactive management of finished goods inventory levels to ensure a balanced level and efficient storage utilization
  • Work with planning team members to ensure material plans are in sync across all plants – act as backup in key areas for team members as required
  • Demonstrate value through leadership, detailed and innovative approach along with proactive communications
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and sound judgment in all situations

 

skills/qualifications required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field required
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience required
  • Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities
  • Experience leading supply chain planning teams across multiple locations
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail required
  • Strong Microsoft Office (Excel, Access) skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Programming (SQL/Python) and Data Visualization (PowerBI) strongly preferred
  • Dynamics 365 experience preferred but not required
