job purpose: The Part-Time Payroll Clerk will assist the Payroll Manager in all activities regarding the management of payroll to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing.  This entry-level, part-time position must be detail-oriented, with a strong understanding of the concept of confidentiality.

 

responsibilities:

  • Process accurate and timely bi-weekly, multi-state payroll in accordance with company policies, practices and procedures as well as appropriate state and federal regulations
  • Research and resolves payroll issues in a timely manner
  • Enter and updates garnishments in payroll system
  • Collaborate with Payroll Manager on improvements and troubleshoot any payroll processing issues
  • Provide excellent levels of customer service to all levels of employees by responding to requests in a timely manner
  • Serve as back-up for the Payroll Manager as needed

skills/qualifications required:

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • 1-2+ years of payroll experience required
  • Previous experience with ADP WFN platform strongly preferred
  • Possess strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle shifting priorities and meet deadlines
  • Must have strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Possess general knowledge of payroll laws
  • Must be flexible with part-time hours, with shifting schedule depending on payroll week
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
