job purpose: The IT Project Manager reports directly to the Senior Director of IT and is responsible for the management of fairlife IT’s portfolio of strategic projects along with all aspects of successful project planning and execution. This includes project initiation, planning, execution, monitoring and control, closing and acceptance. Utilizes generally accepted project management practices, tools, and methodologies to accomplish the project goals and objectives. Directs the activities of all the project personnel including but not limited to the vendors and consultants, toward successful completion of projects. Ensures adherence to quality standards and assures project deliverables are met as defined by stakeholders and subject matter experts. Other duties as assigned.

responsibilities:

  • Proactively lead and drive cross functional project teams to meet schedule, budget, and quality requirements for assigned projects
  • Ensure project management methodology is rigorously followed: Suitable definition of project scope, out of scope, goals, and deliverables - Effectively follow project financial controls
  • Assemble and coordinate project team(s) comprising of both internal resources and external staff - Manage resource allocation
  • Ensure that all best practices, design principles, standards are incorporated, and designs are reviewed with suitable stakeholders for input/guidance/leverage group experience
  • Ensure project execution is monitored and managed to meet business requirements: Track project budget, schedule and deliverables using appropriate tools
  • Report regularly on status of the project-to-project steering committee and stakeholders, including reports defining project progress, problems, and solutions
  • Implement and manage project changes, change control and other interventions to achieve all required project outputs

skills/qualifications required:

  • Highly organized with strong communication skills required
  • BS in CS / MIS / Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of progressive and relevant IT Project Management experience required
  • Experience managing at least 1-2 full ERP implementations or similar scale projects required
  • Experience managing large IT infrastructure and capital deployments preferred
  • Agile Software development lifecycle management experience a plus
  • Ability to effectively utilize project management software and tools
  • Self-starter; take charge, positive & proactive attitude
  • Ability to communicate clearly within the organization and externally
  • Demonstrable teamwork and maturity with a strong work ethic
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

position location: Chicago, IL / Coopersville, MI / Goodyear, AZ / Remote (Proximity to plant or HQ preferred)

reports to: Senior Director, IT

travel requirements: 20% +
