job purpose: The Human Resources Manager provides strategic leadership and support in functional areas of human resources including recruitment, employment, employee relations, job evaluation, benefits administration, employee development, training, and special projects. This position serves as a strategic and tactical business partner to the plant leadership team. The Human Resources Manager will lead the creation, development and implementation HR policies and procedures at a brand new greenfield facility. 

responsibilities:

  • Analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the operations team to assist in developing solutions, programs, and policies
  • Work closely with leaders and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, support employee development and increase productivity and retention
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation with knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations ensuring compliance
  • Maintain HR Information System records, payroll records, and compile reports from database
  • Provide assistance with the evaluation of compensation and make appropriate recommendations
  • Coach management in various HR activities such as recruitment, terminations, promotions, performance reviews, and policy training
  • Source, screen, test, and recommend candidates for employment and conduct employee orientation
  • Develop and oversee practices to recognize, reward, and appreciate employees
  • Lead a small team of human resources professionals

skills/qualifications required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related experience
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
  • Proven record of implementing processes and change management
  • Thorough knowledge of plant procedures and policies

preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Human Resources, MBA, or HR Certifications 
  • Extensive recruitment and screening experience with hiring large groups of employees
  • Disciplined problem solving methodology with an ability to find the root cause of issues
  • Experience implementing programs that get business results for the group they served
