job purpose: The Corporate Controller will function as a leader and business partner with management, plants and various team members to effectively ensure compliance of reporting, processes and controls.  This position will play a critical role in our financial reporting process, providing guidance for new GAAP initiatives and technical accounting information as needed.  A key responsibility will be to provide analytical input, recommend process improvements and ensure that project activity is progressing as planned for a rapidly growing company. 

responsibilities:

  • Accounting/Financial
    • Utilize interpersonal skills to lead and develop the Accounting Team
    • Oversite of the timeliness and accuracy of the Company’s financial statements
    • Direct responsibility for the financial operations and budgeting for Corporate and three non-bottling plants
    • Identify opportunities with new plant activity for shared services.  Coordinate hiring and implementation or operational support
    • Develop Standard Operating Procedures to ensure that there is an effective and efficient system of internal controls across the Company
    • Facilitate 3rd party audit activities

 

  • ERP/MES/MRP Project Implementation
    • Collaborate with implementation project team to ensure a successful transition to the new system
    • Ensure that there is an effective and efficient system of internal controls including; data integrity, asset protection, segregation of duties, budgeting, financial reporting, information systems and adherence to corporate policies and governmental regulations
    • Provide recommendation and guidance on business infrastructure and master data to the project team
    • Participate in workshops to ensure reporting requirements and control requirements are addressed during the solution verification process
    • Develop processes to ensure that dual system accounting and treasury is accurately managed and controlled throughout the implementation timeframe
    • Work with project team to ensure that the delivery of training materials satisfies the accounting team’s needs
    • Leverage finance systems by standardizing business processes and improving internal controls

 

  • Consolidation efforts with Coca-Cola North America
    • Comply with financial consolidation and supporting documentation requirements
    • Responsible for the communication of and adherence to governance and chain of authority requirements
    • Network with, and utilization of financial resources available
    • Identify synergistic opportunities

 

  • Treasury, Tax & Risk Management
    • Banking
      • Manage bank relationships
      • Oversee employee credit card and gift card programs
      • Administration of financial note covenant reporting and borrowing process
      • Investigate opportunities to reduce Company risk and streamline processes
      • Understand fairlife hedging process and record financial impact
    • Tax
      • Responsible for local non-income tax, regulatory and permitting requirements
    • Insurance
      • Coordinate administration of Company’s insurance policies.  Prepare underwriting information and applications for renewal consideration
      • Audit insurance premium payments and control all invoicing/billing from insurers and brokers, including financial reconciliations
      • Manage escalation of claims and carrier activity
  • Other
    • Recommend process improvement and action plans
    • Perform ad hoc financial analysis as required
    • Perform other duties and participate in special projects as assigned

 

skills/qualifications required:

  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance.  CPA and/or MBA a plus
  • 5-10 years of financial experience with managing a staff in a manufacturing environment.  Corporate or Plant Controller a plus
  • Ability to develop high levels of credibility and forge solid and positive professional relationships with subordinates, peers and upper management
  • Strong leadership, communication and team building skills
  • Proficient in use of accounting systems, implementation of financial practices, analysis of financial and operating information to facilitate decision making and recommending actions to improve
  • Proficient in Microsoft products, database software and other applicable accounting and financial software and systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment
  • Dairy experience a plus, not required
