job purpose: The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for ensuring that all A/P transactions are processed in a timely and accurate manner. This motivated employee is responsible for processing Orders Vendor Invoices, as well as general accounting tasks. This position must have the ability to communicate and address issues to ensure and processes are handled in the most efficient manner.  Attention to detail, organization and accuracy are essential to this position. In addition, this position will be involved in developing policies and procedures and training material as required to support and improve current processes. This role will also be responsible for performing basic general accounting tasks as needed to support the order process and invoicing process as required.

responsibilities: 

  • Process vendor invoices through ERP system (Dynamics 365)
  • Prepare/process required journal entries and accruals relating to Accounts Payable Department.
  • Reconciliation of vendor statements
  • Knowledge of GL coding of vendor invoices and payment requests
  • Resolve account discrepancies by investigating documentation
  • Continuously evaluate work tasks/streams, utilize current accounting system technology, and research new technology to facilitate efficient functionality and process improvement
  • Work with sales, marketing, accounting, plants and others to ensure the completeness of A/P Invoices submitted for payment
  • Perform additional duties or special assignments as assigned or required

qualifications:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • A minimum of 2 years’ Accounts Payable experience required
  • Excellent organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, and time management
  • Teamwork, collaboration, and ability to flex with the needs of the business required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word and Excel)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Seek new, improved, and innovative ways to increase effectiveness of departmental operations and processes
