job purpose: The Accounting Associate will be responsible for preparation of bills and invoices, the calculation and verification of billing with accounts receivable ledger. Processes changes in information system to support accurate and efficient billing process and financial close.  Ensures that all A/R transactions are processed in a timely and accurate manner.  Communicate and address issues to ensure processes are handled in the most efficient manner.  Attention to detail, organization and accuracy are essential to this position.  In addition, this person will be involved in developing policies & procedures and training material as required to support and improve current processes.  This role will also be responsible for performing basic general accounting tasks to support the order and invoicing process as required.

responsibilities: 

  • Follow procedures established for accurate invoicing of assigned customers
  • Research reporting discrepancies by validating information received
  • Assist cash application when needed
  • Establish open communication with customers and colleagues
  • Accurately track un-invoiced shipments for month end accruals though daily invoicing verifications
  • Run/ reconciliation outbound reports with daily revenue tracker
  • Prepare month end revenue accruals for assigned customers
  • Actively participate in department meetings for cross training and knowledge sharing
  • Proactively work to improve DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) for customers
  • Maintain audit documentation through proper filing

 

skills/qualifications required:

  • A minimum of 2 years Accounts Receivable experience required
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills including prioritizing, scheduling, and time management
  • Teamwork, collaboration, and ability to flex with the needs of the business required
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Word and Excel)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment
  • Seek new, improved, and innovative ways to increase effectiveness of departmental operations and processes
