job purpose:

The Staff Accountant’s responsibilities will be to provide timely and accurate processing of financial transactions related to accounting activities in accordance with fairlife’s accounting policies and principals, US GAAP, and local government regulations.

responsibilities:

  • General Ledger - Support the monthly financial statement close process
    • Prepare journal entries and period end accruals for posting to the general ledger with proper supporting documentation
    • Monitor day-to-day general ledger activity
    • Perform monthly variance analysis, recommend accruals, and prepare variance commentary
    • Review and analyze financial data
    • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations as assigned
    • Assist with compiling information and workpapers for year-end/interim audit and tax support
    • Prepare various monthly reporting
  • Other
    • Function as a business partner for all fairlife teams
    • Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures
    • Perform ad hoc financial analysis as required
    • Perform other related duties & participates in special projects as assigned

skills/qualifications required:

  • B.S. in Accounting or Finance. CPA and/or MBA a plus
  • 0-2 years of general accounting experience
  • Foundational accounting knowledge of debits, credits, assets, and liabilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft products and other applicable accounting and financial software and systems
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment and can prioritize
